According to reports, Tammy Slaton from the show “1000-Lb. Sisters” has recently relocated to live with her brother, Chris Combs. This move came after her sister Amanda Halterman asked her to leave the rental home she had been residing in. A friend revealed that Tammy had no choice but to move in with Chris as she had lost her own house. It seems that the tension between Tammy and Amanda has reached a point where they simply cannot get along anymore.
“They have worse fights than cats and dogs,” a friend commented about the sisters, revealing that the siblings have engaged in numerous heated arguments recently. One of these disputes even took place at the funeral of Tammy’s late husband, Caleb Willingham.
According to the report, Tammy moved away from Amanda’s property in Sturgis, Kentucky in November. Her new residence is located 38 miles away at Chris’ house, offering a slight change in proximity.
Previously, Tammy shared a duplex in Dixon, Kentucky with her sister Amy Halterman. However, Amy recently bought a new house for her family, including her now-estranged husband Michael Halterman and their sons, Gage and Glenn. This Morganfield, Kentucky home was purchased in 2021 for $37,000.
After spending more than a year at a weight loss rehab center in Ohio, the famous TLC star was finally released in February 2023. Sadly, her return home was marred by an unfortunate incident that occurred while she was away. During her absence, thieves found their way into Tammy’s duplex located in Dixon, Kentucky. In the month of May 2022, they shamelessly ransacked her place, making off with various valuable items. The burglars forcefully broke through the back door, making their entry into the house. They took advantage of Tammy’s absence and managed to steal her washer and dryer, refrigerator, sinks, water heater, and even a dresser that contained all of her clothing.
This incident came to light on the episode of 1000-Lb. Sisters that aired on February 7. The aftermath of the burglary was revealed when Tammy’s sister, Misty Slaton, and another sibling, Amanda, decided to retrieve some of Tammy’s belongings from the duplex. It was a devastating sight for everyone to witness the extent of the damage caused by the criminals.
Understandably, the incident had a profound impact on Tammy. The emotional trauma she experienced was so overwhelming that she chose not to return to her home after being released from rehab. The scars left by the break-in were simply too deep, making it impossible for her to feel safe in the place that was violated by heartless thieves.
In a TikTok video on June 7, Amanda opened up about the challenges she and her siblings faced while growing up. Reflecting on their upbringing, she revealed that they experienced financial difficulties as their mother, a single parent, struggled to provide for their family of five. Amanda also mentioned that their grandmother played a crucial role in raising them, while their Uncle Kevin had a significant impact on their lives.
When asked about their financial status, Amanda chose to keep it brief, describing their situation as one of extreme poverty. She stated, “We didn’t have much to our name. We were barely scraping by.” However, she made it clear that her intention was not to seek sympathy from others. Instead, Amanda emphasized that she and her siblings want to be recognized for their individual merits and be seen as good-hearted individuals. They have all strived to raise their own children with the values instilled in them during their challenging upbringing.
