Marshall, from ‘Love Is Blind’, Reflects on Jackie’s Video Accusations as Unnecessary During Reunion (Exclusive Interview)

Marshall Glaze, a participant on Love Is Blind season 4, has expressed his surprise and disappointment at the accusations made by his ex-fiancée, Jackie Bonds, during the show’s reunion. Jackie had accused Marshall of mistreating her off-camera, which Marshall felt was uncalled for. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Marshall explained that dealing with volatile individuals can lead to being blindsided by unexpected situations. Reflecting on the pre-taped interview with Jackie and her new boyfriend, Josh Demas, Marshall admitted that it was challenging to respond to everything at once and set the record straight. Furthermore, while Jackie and Josh provided an update on their relationship during the reunion, Marshall admitted feeling slighted by their decision to skip the event.

Marshall and Jackie from the Netflix show Love Is Blind found themselves in a difficult situation when Jackie decided not to attend the reunion. Marshall opened up about his struggles with her decision, expressing his feelings of disappointment and anxiety. He acknowledged that he understood her reasons and respected her mental health and personal choices. However, he couldn’t help but feel frustrated with not being able to present his side of the story during the reunion.

During the reunion special, Marshall spoke about feeling personally affected by Jackie and her boyfriend Josh’s absence. He felt that he wasn’t able to fully defend himself without their presence. Reflecting on the situation, he mentioned feeling slighted for the second time, both at the altar and now at the reunion. Vanessa, another cast member, suggested that Marshall consider Jackie’s perspective and the reasons behind her decision not to attend.

Jackie later explained in an interview why she ended her relationship with Marshall.

“It happened during an off-camera moment when we were signing the marriage certificate,” Jackie revealed. “He used a derogatory term to refer to me, and we got into a heated argument about it. After that, he left for three days. I believe it was a misunderstanding; we were joking around, but it came across badly.”

During the reunion, Marshall admitted to co-host Vanessa Lachey that there is a distinction between playful banter and knowing when a joke crosses the line. He acknowledged saying to Jackie, “You have a strong jawline. I mean, you could’ve easily been mistaken for a man,” but he insisted that it wasn’t the derogatory comment mentioned earlier.

Vanessa also inquired about Jackie’s engagement ring from Marshall. Jackie confirmed that she still had it and suspected that Marshall wanted it back because he planned to propose to another cast member.

Despite everything, Jackie previously shared with PEOPLE that she only had one regret from her love journey on the reality show. “I did what was right for me. I was straightforward in the breakup, but maybe I wasn’t as honest during the relationship,” she admitted. “However, I have no regrets. The only thing I do regret is not having a final conversation with Josh in the pods.”

In contrast, Marshall revealed to PEOPLE that he had no regrets about what transpired between him and Jackie. “Looking back, I have no regrets. Everything happened for a reason,” he stated. “I don’t hold any grudges or wish harm upon anyone. Life is too short to carry negative feelings. So, if Josh and Jackie being together truly makes them happy, then I wish them the best. It just wasn’t the right choice for me. Nevertheless, I’m grateful for the experience.”
