Leslie Fhima Opens Up About an ‘Awkward Moment’ on The Golden Wedding

Leslie Fhima, who came in second place on the hit show “Golden Bachelor,” created quite a stir as he unexpectedly popped up at the joyous celebration of Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist’s 50th wedding anniversary.

In a recent interview, Leslie opened up about her experience attending her ex-boyfriend’s wedding and the unexpected emotions that arose. Alongside fellow contestants from the Bachelor franchise, she was a part of the audience witnessing the couple’s heartfelt vows at the picturesque La Quinta Resort in Palm Springs. During her conversation on the ‘Almost Famous’ podcast, Leslie revealed that she felt a combination of discomfort and nostalgia when Costa Rica, the place where her relationship with Gerry ended and where he proposed to his now-wife Theresa, was mentioned during the ceremony.

Leslie admitted that the mention of Costa Rica during the ceremony made her somewhat uneasy, as she had been there as well. However, she emphasized that this was probably the only instance where she felt uncomfortable, as witnessing Theresa’s happiness managed to alleviate that feeling. In addition, Leslie clarified her decision to attend The Golden Wedding, stating that she had been given the option to come and was not coerced into it. It was Theresa who extended the invitation to her. Leslie believed that, ultimately, the reason everyone was present at the event was to find love. Lastly, she reassured that there were no ill feelings between the two women.

“And you know, it ultimately came down to just the two of us, Theresa and me, being really close pals in the house,” Leslie shared.
“We spent so much time together, engaging in heartfelt conversations and offering each other unwavering support. Laughter was never scarce either. So, naturally, it took me some time to process the disappointment, but eventually, I had a revelation – they’re truly meant for each other, and I couldn’t be happier for Theresa, as finding love is what we all sought after.”
During their exchange of vows, Gerry expressed to Theresa, “From our very first sip of chocolate shake to the last lingering taste of Costa Rican coffee, I came to realize that you are the one woman I simply cannot imagine my life without.”

Leslie was completely caught off guard by the unexpected end of her relationship with Gerry following the conclusion of the show. Reflecting on their time together, she expressed her confidence in being Gerry’s chosen partner, stating, “Without a doubt, I believed I was the one for him.” Recalling their intimate conversations during their overnight dates and the occasions when she met his family, Leslie admitted, “Although not all of it was aired, those moments were incredibly special, and we shared some truly memorable experiences.”
