Love Is Blind: After the Altar is returning for its third installment in the upcoming month and will focus on the aftermath of two particularly dramatic breakups showcased on the popular Netflix dating series.
The streaming platform recently announced that the third season of Love Is Blind: After the Altar will premiere on Friday, Feb. 10, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
According to the official synopsis, the three-episode special will catch up with the season 3 cast as they adjust to life in Dallas after their wedding ceremonies and reunite for a birthday celebration like no other.
One year after their weddings, some of the former couples have found themselves back together again, while others are trying to figure out their next steps in their relationships. The release teases the question of who is still thriving and who is faced with difficult decisions about their future.
The special is expected to feature couples Colleen Reed and Matt Bolton, and Alexa Alfia and Brennon Lemieux, the two pairs who successfully made it to the altar this season. They are shown on the official poster for the special, embracing each other with smiles.
The former couples from the show, including Raven Ross and Sikiru “SK” Alagbada, Zanab Jaffrey and Cole Barnett, and Nancy Rodriguez and Bartise Bowden, are also highlighted on the artwork, each in their own separate frames.

Among the group of singles, Raven, SK, Zanab, and Cole had particularly messy breakups. Raven, who is 30 years old, and SK, 34, faced various challenges during their time together on the show. These challenges included difficulty with intimacy, differences in their family backgrounds and cultures, and the question of whether their long-distance relationship could withstand SK’s plans to move to California for his master’s degree.

On their wedding day, it seemed like Raven was ready to overcome these obstacles. She expressed her love for SK and her belief in their bright future together. However, SK surprised both Raven and viewers by deciding not to marry her. He claimed that he couldn’t enter a marriage with so many unanswered questions, and that he would feel guilty if he did pursue it.

Despite this shocking decision, during the season 3 reunion, Raven and SK shocked everyone again by announcing that they had reconciled. Unfortunately, this reunion didn’t last long. In late November, not long after the reunion aired, Raven and SK released a joint statement revealing that they had broken up for the second time. The breakup occurred amidst allegations of cheating against SK, which he has denied.

Zanab and Cole had quite a dramatic experience. Although they got engaged during season 3, Zanab, who is 32 years old, ended up rejecting Cole at the altar. She claimed that throughout the season, Cole’s comments about her body image and diet had a negative impact on her. In front of their wedding guests, Zanab expressed her feelings to Cole, stating that he had disrespected, insulted, and critiqued her, leading to a loss of her self-confidence. She admitted that she still loved him, but she believed that love should not feel this way, and therefore, she could not marry him.

Cole, who is 27, was shocked and tearful, wondering why Zanab had never expressed these feelings directly to him. He believed that she chose this moment to hurt him more in front of their loved ones. He felt deceived and believed that their relationship had not been perfect, but this experience was one of the worst he had ever faced.

During the reunion, Zanab brought up a previously unaired scene known as the “Cuties video,” which became popular among fans. In the video, Cole discouraged Zanab from snacking on a Mandarin orange. Cole later clarified his intentions on the Lauren Interviews podcast, stating that he did not intend to body-shame her. He explained that he was simply discussing their plans for a big dinner and was being his usual self.

Netflix premiered Love Is Blind in February 2020, where hopeful singles from the same city date each other without seeing each other, relying solely on conversations through speakers. The twist is that these couples only meet in person after getting engaged. To keep up with the hype, Netflix will also release a new show called Perfect Match on Valentine’s Day, February 14th. The series will bring together singles from various reality shows, including Love Is Blind, The Circle, Too Hot to Handle, Sexy Beasts, and more, in a tropical paradise to find love. Hosted by Nick Lachey, Perfect Match will follow these reality stars as they compete to form relationships. The most compatible couples will also play matchmaker and have the power to break up other couples, sending them on dates with singles they invite to the villa. The strategy of these matchmakers will determine the success of the contestants, as they strive to find better matches or create chaos. In the end, only one couple will be crowned the “Perfect Match.” The show will feature past Love Is Blind cast members, including Bowden, Damian Powers, Diamond Jack, Lauren “LC” Chamblin, and Shayne Jansen.
