On January 11, the recent couple from “The Golden Bachelor,” Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist, reunited in Theresa’s home state of New Jersey. This came after their wedding ceremony in Palm Springs, California, just a week prior. Gerry, 72, shared on Instagram that he had a ten-hour drive with his dog, Cody, as his travel companion before being greeted by Theresa and a home-cooked meal in Shrewsbury. According to Gerry, the meal was incredibly delicious. He also posted some selfies with Theresa, showing off the view of the meal that she had cooked for him in her home. Gerry made the long drive from Indiana, where he is originally from, to New Jersey. After the wedding, he made a pit stop at home to pick up his dog before heading to the East Coast for some quality time with his new wife.
Theresa and Gerry, the newlywed couple, have finally reunited in New Jersey after their wedding in January. Despite getting married, they are still undecided on where they want to settle down. Initially, they had mentioned moving to South Carolina because Theresa’s son lives near Charleston and Gerry had expressed his desire to move there. However, Gerry, a former restaurateur, admitted in December 2023 that he was starting to grow fond of New Jersey and that they would also be exploring housing options there.
The lovebirds still have their honeymoon ahead, which they will be spending in Italy courtesy of a generous gift from ABC.
Gerry and Theresa first crossed paths on the first season of The Golden Bachelor in 2023. After parting ways with Leslie Fhima, Gerry got down on one knee and proposed to Theresa during the final rose ceremony. Their wedding ceremony was held less than two months after the show concluded in November 2023.
Gerry and Theresa are now widowed after being married to their high school sweethearts for over 40 years. Theresa’s late husband, William “Bill” Nist, passed away in 2014, while Gerry lost his first wife, Toni Turner, in 2017. They connected over their shared experiences of loss during their initial one-on-one date on The Golden Bachelor.
