Shayne Jansen wasn’t the only contestant who had feelings for Natalie Lee during this season of Love Is Blind, according to series creator Chris Coelen. In an interview with MetroUK, Coelen revealed that there was another man who had his sights set on Lee and even proposed to her early on. However, Lee did not reciprocate his feelings and turned him down. This proposal was not shown on the show due to limited time available for each episode. Coelen explained that while it would have been an interesting story to explore, the focus was primarily on Lee’s journey. Despite the ups and downs, Lee seemed to be content after accepting Jansen’s proposal. However, they encountered difficulties in the real world and had a major argument before their wedding, which ultimately led to Lee’s decision not to go through with the marriage.

“I am incredibly grateful that we embarked on this journey together. Throughout our time together, I believe we have both experienced significant personal growth as individuals who are deeply in love. Personally, I have learned so much from you, although I do have some reservations,” she expressed, leaving him standing alone at the altar. “I am truly sorry, Shayne. My love for you remains, and you will always be my closest friend. However, we must confront some significant challenges that lie ahead.”
After the show’s conclusion, Jansen took to Instagram to express his heartfelt sentiments towards Lee.
“Natalie Mina Lee, where do I begin? Our journey together is something I will forever cherish. It was undeniably the most amazing time of my life, and if given the chance, I would relive it all over again, solely for the opportunity to spend more time with you,” he began.
“From our very first date, where we enjoyed In-N-Out burgers and you ordered both milkshakes, to our walks around Grant Park, you have shown me the beauty of your soul and have consistently brought out the best version of myself as a man,” he continued. “As I watch our story unfold, I cannot help but feel remorseful for my past actions, and all I can do is learn from them to become a better person. I am proud of my vulnerability and the authenticity I displayed. Although I am uncertain of what lies ahead for us, one thing will remain certain—my love for you will never cease.”
Lee responded to Jansen’s heartfelt message with a post of her own, expressing her gratitude for having him as a partner throughout the show.
“We may have had our fair share of ups and downs, but you have always stepped up to protect me and support me,” she conveyed. “I would also like to thank you for loving me unconditionally and encouraging me to accept and embrace my flaws. When I confided in you about my insecurities regarding my stretch marks, you reassured me every single day that you loved them and found them beautiful.”
Concluding her response, Lee stated, “Even if I had the chance to repeat this experiment a thousand times, knowing the outcome, I would still choose you.”
