Kody’s Perspective: Unraveling the Misunderstandings between Christine and David

“I’m completely unfamiliar with this David individual. I genuinely hope that Christine is making wise decisions in her relationship,” expresses Kody in an exclusive preview of the upcoming episode of ‘Sister Wives: One on One,’ provided by PEOPLE.
Kody Brown still holds strong opinions regarding Christine Brown, particularly regarding her new partner, David Woolley.
In a sneak peek shared exclusively by PEOPLE, the patriarch of the Brown family shares his belief regarding how Christine was able to move forward with her new significant other.
“Here’s the situation. In order for David, specifically David Woolley, to feel comfortable marrying Christine, she must tarnish my reputation. Because she left behind a good man, David would not be confident in their relationship otherwise,” he suggests. “I want to clarify that I am not a villain. Christine and I simply had a troubled marriage.”

However, host Sukanya Krishnan disagrees with Kody’s viewpoint, stating that she had a conversation with him and doesn’t believe he actually feels that way. According to her, he sees his previous marriages as simply not working out and now he is focused on his current relationship. On the other hand, Kody mentions that he approached his fourth wife Robyn Brown differently. He made sure to thoroughly assess her background because he wanted to be certain that she hadn’t left a good man before he committed to marrying her.

Sukanya argues that despite Christine leaving, Kody, who is 54, is still a good man. Kody strongly disagrees with Christine’s claims and insists that she should stop telling their children otherwise. He vows to continue fighting for his kids until they come to him. However, Kody appreciates that David, whom he doesn’t know, holds no ill feelings towards him. He hopes that Christine has chosen wisely and wishes her happiness. Kody acknowledges that his life has been in the public eye for years, which might influence people’s opinions of him.

In November 2021, Christine, 52, announced the end of her 25-year plural marriage with Kody. Later, in February, she confirmed her relationship with David. They got engaged in April and married in October. In the meantime, Kody’s second wife, Janelle Brown, and his first wife, Meri Brown, also left the plural marriage within 14 months after Christine’s departure. Currently, Kody is only married to Robyn, 45.

In a clip from an upcoming episode of PEOPLE, David shares his initial impression of Kody, noting that he is very expressive with his emotions. David, however, accepts Kody for who he is and admits that he wouldn’t react the same way. David understands that managing a large family can be overwhelming, and he sympathizes with Kody to some extent.
