Jessica, the trailblazing single mother chosen for the popular Netflix series, emphasizes the paramount significance of motherhood in her life. However, she wishes for her pod companions to forge a genuine understanding of her identity before delving into the intricacies of her role as a devoted mother.
Love Is Blind’s Jessica Vestal is excited to join the pods in season 6! In an exclusive preview shared by PEOPLE, Jessica opens up to co-hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey about her feelings as the first single mom to participate in the popular Netflix series.
“I’m feeling really nervous about how the guys will react when they find out I have a child,” she confesses, mentioning that her daughter is named Autumn. Overwhelmed with emotion, the 29-year-old executive assistant expresses, “I just have so much love for her.”
Curious about Jessica’s approach, Vanessa, 43, asks her, “Are you planning to reveal this information right away or will you wait for the right moment to mention that you have a child?”

Despite her deep affection for her 10-year-old daughter, Jessica reveals that she doesn’t want motherhood to be the sole aspect that defines her as a person, especially when meeting potential partners in the pods for the first time.
“I believe it’s important for people to get to know me as an individual first, apart from being a mother, as that is crucial to me. Being a mother is incredibly important, but it does not define me,” she expresses to Vanessa and Nick. “I trust that I will intuitively know when the right moment comes to disclose this aspect of my life to someone.”
On the other hand, Autumn, a single mother, couldn’t be more excited and optimistic about the pods experience. She candidly confesses, “She’s eagerly awaiting it. She’s even been searching for dresses online… I just want to meet someone first. Let’s take it easy.”
Season 6 of the popular show Love Is Blind will be premiering on Netflix this Wednesday. The upcoming season will follow 30 singles from Charlotte, North Carolina, as they go through the ups and downs of trying to find love without seeing each other, with the hope of finding their perfect match in the end.
Jessica, one of the participants, shared with Tudum that she is looking for a partner who has a great sense of humor. She emphasized that laughter is important to her and that she wants someone who can laugh with her, or even at her.
In addition to a good sense of humor, Jessica also has another important requirement for her future husband. She wants someone who fully embraces her daughter, Autumn. In a teaser video released in January, Jessica stated that her daughter, and potentially their future children, will always come first. It is a non-negotiable aspect for her, and she considers anyone who doesn’t accept her daughter as a deal-breaker and a red flag, as they come as a package deal.
