The pair first crossed paths and said “I do” during the inaugural season of Netflix’s hit show ‘Love Is Blind’.
Five years have passed, and the journey of love is still ongoing for Love Is Blind stars Amber Pike and Matt Barnett. Amber, aged 31, started celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary on Monday with a heartfelt tribute to her 33-year-old husband on social media.
In an Instagram post that Matt also shared, she began with a humorous quote about love being stronger today despite past annoyances. Alongside a video of the couple walking hand in hand and sharing a kiss on the cheek, Amber expressed how their love has grown over the years. She admitted that while their journey hasn’t been flawless, their commitment to each other and their continuous growth together is what truly matters.
Amber emphasized that their love has evolved into something deeper and more intentional, based on the choices and efforts they make every day. She assured Matt that their love is not perfect, but genuine and conscious, built on years of dedication and mutual support. She concluded the post with a sweet message of gratitude and love for her “Bumblebee,” looking forward to many more years of happiness together.
In summary, as they celebrate their fifth anniversary, Amber and Matt are grateful for the love they share and excited for the lifetime of love and growth awaiting them.
The couple first crossed paths on the debut season of the popular Netflix reality series, hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, exchanging vows by the season’s end in November 2018. Flash forward to November 2020, as they commemorated their second year together, Amber hinted at the possibility of a second wedding down the line.
“I would definitely be up for another wedding. We’re in no rush, of course. We’re already happily married, but who knows? Maybe in the future,” she expressed to PEOPLE. “We’re still having a blast together. Remember what I said on the show? My mom thought I was going to settle down, but surprise – Matt is just as spontaneous and fun-loving as I am!”
Reflecting on their engagement, Amber revealed that before giving her answer, she made it clear to Matt that she needed more emotional intimacy in their relationship. “I made him understand that I needed assurance, that he was committed to making us work,” she shared. “I wanted to be sure we were both on the same page before taking the plunge.”
Matt’s heartfelt response ultimately sealed the deal for Amber. “He reassured me, saying, ‘I’ll do whatever it takes to make you happy. I love you’,” she recounted, overcome with emotion. “I was touched beyond words and immediately said ‘Yes! Yes! I’ll marry you!'”

The former tank mechanic, who served in the Georgia Army Guard, reflected on their unique meeting and how it has stood the test of time.
While some may find their unconventional marriage story crazy, Amber trusted her instincts, and they haven’t let her down. She expressed gratitude for her husband’s crazy instincts aligning with hers perfectly over the last four years.
Matt also shared a heartfelt message, celebrating four years with his “hottest wife ever” and looking forward to many more anniversaries together.
Amber and Matt are not the only success story from season one of the show. Cameron Hamilton and Lauren Speed Hamilton are also gearing up to celebrate their fifth anniversary on November 16.
