Stacy Snyder and Izzy Zapata found themselves on the wedding episode of the popular reality show Love Is Blind, season five. However, things didn’t go exactly as planned. Although Izzy said the magic words “I do,” Stacy felt they needed more time to nurture their relationship and couldn’t go through with it at the altar.
In the final episode, Stacy appeared willing to continue their journey together, but Izzy was still hurt and disappointed by her rejection. In the weeks that followed, Izzy was spotted out and about with another woman. However, his recent Instagram story posts hinted that he might still be involved with Stacy.
However, the truth is quite different. A year and a half later, during the show’s reunion, Stacy and Izzy revealed that after the wedding, they decided to take some time apart. They refrained from seeing or speaking to each other for about a week before reconvening. During their reunion, they had a heart-to-heart conversation, and Izzy sensed that Stacy wasn’t feeling the same way anymore. When he asked her directly, she confirmed that she couldn’t be with him at that time.
Following that conversation, they didn’t have any contact for a year until they coincidentally bumped into each other at a bar.
“That evening, we had a chance to clear the air. We had plenty of time to reflect on our feelings and how things had unfolded,” Stacy recalled, describing the unexpected encounter. “We both realized that we genuinely wanted the best for each other, and that sentiment was very apparent. There was no animosity, only love and…”
“It was something we really needed, especially after a whole year. I take more responsibility for the pain we went through,” Izzy admitted. “We spent time together, addressing all the unanswered questions we had. And that’s why our friendship is so strong now.”
Izzy shared that they still keep in touch and offer each other advice. She has even met other women he has dated. Surprisingly, they once found themselves attending a cooking class with their respective partners, and coincidentally ended up teamed up to cook a dish together!
To this day, they maintain a healthy relationship as friends.
