Exciting news for fans eagerly anticipating the revival of Gold Rush White Water! The beloved reality TV show, which airs on Discovery Channel, is making a comeback sooner than expected, set to arrive in just a little over two months. Brace yourselves for the return date of this thrilling series and let’s explore what lies ahead in the upcoming season.
Owing to the unusual circumstances surrounding the previous season, it concluded on June 9, 2023. This particular season carried an intriguing twist as it was originally part of season 6. However, midway through, Discovery Channel halted its progression and put it on hold for an unprecedented three-month period. Finally, when the show resumed, it was deemed a separate and distinct “new” season. Consequently, this unanticipated turn of events pushed back the release of the new season, causing a delay from the expected timeline we had grown accustomed to.
Gold Rush White Water has traditionally premiered in the later months of the year, specifically December or November, starting from its second season. Following the January 2018 premiere of Season 1, subsequent seasons have adhered to this late-year schedule. Seasons 3 through 6, for instance, all debuted in November. However, concerns arose among fans when November came and went without any news on the show’s fate after encountering issues in the previous season.
Fortunately, those worries can now be put to rest, as the official Facebook page of the late Dakota Fred announced that the new season of Gold Rush White Water is set to premiere on February 16, 2024 (but this date is subject to change). The announcement was made by a “reliable source,” as stated on Fred’s page. In addition to this exciting news, it was also revealed that a tribute special will be dedicated to Dakota Fred.
Dakota Fred, an original member of the cast, sadly passed away on July 11, 2023, at the age of 80 after battling brain cancer for four months. He had been an integral part of the show since its inception, showcasing his gold mining adventures in Alaska for a decade.
With the upcoming season and the special honoring Dakota Fred, fans can eagerly anticipate what Gold Rush White Water has in store for them.
Dakota Fred will not be returning for the new season of Gold Rush White Water, but his family is expected to make an appearance. Unfortunately, Kayla Johanson will not be joining the cast either. She made the decision to leave the show due to the drama amongst the miners and the lack of successful mining portrayed. Kayla expressed her frustration with constantly following someone else and dealing with ineffective results and unnecessary amounts of drama.
