The hidden treasure, valued at 1 million USD (over 23 billion VND), that was concealed in the Rocky Mountains of the USA by the “eccentric” millionaire Forrest Fenn has finally been discovered. For ten years, this treasure remained untouched in the mountains, evading anyone who attempted to find it.
It is known that in 2010, wealthy Forrest Fenn, an art and antiques collector, initiated the treasure hunt. As per the millionaire, he had hidden a chest filled with treasures like rare gold coins, diamonds, rubies, and even emeralds.
A decade has gone by, with thousands of adventurous individuals embarking on journeys to the Rocky Mountains in hopes of finding the hidden riches, but all efforts have been fruitless.
The exact location of the treasure remains undisclosed, but millionaire Fen stated that the treasure chest is hidden beneath the lush vegetation of the Rocky Mountains and has not been moved from its original location since he hid it over a decade ago. He does not know the person who found the treasure, but believes that the poem in his book guided them to the right spot.
Recently, an anonymous individual claimed to have found the treasure and confirmed it by sending a photo of their findings to millionaire Fen. The person, who remains unidentified, mentioned coming from the eastern part of the United States.
When asked about his current emotions, the millionaire expressed feeling a mix of happiness and sadness as he realizes that “The chase is over” at last.
“I want to congratulate the thousands of courageous individuals who have participated in the search over the past decade and I am hopeful that they will make new discoveries,” the eccentric millionaire shared.
Previously, in an autobiography published in 2010, the millionaire had given clues to the treasure’s location in a 24-line poem. The inspiration came to him when he was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 1988 and given a 20% chance of survival. After overcoming the illness, he decided to bury part of his fortune in the Rocky Mountains and embark on this adventure. This is how he encourages people to explore nature.
Millionaire Fen said that an estimated 350,000 people around the world have engaged in this treasure hunt. Some individuals have even quit their jobs and left their homes to spend time searching. Unfortunately, at least 5 people have lost their lives in the pursuit.
