Warning: Spoilers ahead for episodes 1-6 of Love Is Blind season 6.
Love Is Blind season 6 wasted no time in throwing viewers a shocking love triangle, with Amber Desiree “AD” Smith now sharing the inside scoop on what really went down behind the scenes.
Despite a rocky start in the pods, AD and Matthew Duliba quickly bonded after she looked past his tough exterior. However, things took a twist when AD discovered that Matthew was also in a connection with Amber Grant, saying the same sweet nothings to both women.
After the fallout, Amber and Matthew left the show, while AD chose to pursue something real with Clay Gravesande. Despite their own hurdles, Clay and AD ended up becoming engaged.
Reflecting on the dramatic pod betrayal, AD, 32, reveals that there are no hard feelings between her and Matthew, with the two having had a peaceful conversation post-show.
“I have no regrets about my love triangle,” she shares. “I did what I thought was best in that moment.”
“I did have a chance to chat with Matthew,” AD adds. “He has a unique way of expressing himself. I let him share his thoughts, we had our talk, and then we moved forward.”
In the first episode of the show, Matthew shared with AD during their pod date that he planned to ask her father for his blessing before proposing. He reassured her that he would do anything she wanted, even if it meant leaving the show together. AD was touched by his sincerity and felt that Matthew was a rare and special person.
However, things took a turn when another contestant, Amber, revealed to AD that she had a similar conversation with Matthew about leaving the show together if he couldn’t get her father’s blessing. AD was shocked and upset to learn that Matthew had said the same things to both of them.
Feeling betrayed, AD confided in her friend Alejandra about the situation and questioned Matthew’s motives. She was hurt that he had shared such personal and intimate details with both her and Amber, causing her to doubt his sincerity.
As per Netflix’s show, when AD brought up the similar conversations with Matthew, she told him, “I felt so confident and secure after our conversations, but hearing what you said really messed with my head. Your words to me were exactly what you said to her.” Matthew denied this, saying, “That’s not true. I shared more meaningful things with you.” He also reassured AD that if he had to choose that day, he would have picked her.
Later, Amber and AD had a heart-to-heart in the women’s area and discovered that Matthew had indeed told them both the same things within a short time frame. After letting out their emotions and embracing each other, Amber decided it was time for her to step back and exit the show.
Adam Rose from the show “Love Is Blind” on Netflix had a tough time on his latest date with Matthew. They had a heart-to-heart conversation where Matthew expressed his inability to commit fully. This led to Adam deciding to walk away from the show due to his connection with Clay. In a sarcastic tone, Adam noted that Matthew sounded devastated because of Amber’s departure. Matthew confessed feeling guilty for potentially hurting someone on national TV and then doing the same to Adam. This left Adam stunned, prompting him to leave. Meanwhile, Matthew decided to pursue a connection with Amber, leaving his engagement with Adam in question. As for Adam, she is happily engaged to Clay and enjoying their time together in Punta Cana before returning to reality in Charlotte, North Carolina.
