Gerry Turner, famously known as the Golden Bachelor, gained immense popularity by sharing his heartwarming story of true love and loss. He had claimed that he had not indulged in serious dating ever since his wife passed away. However, recent reports suggest that his claims were far from true as an alleged ex of Gerry’s has come forward to share their side of the story.
Contrary to what has been portrayed in the media, Turner’s supposed former partner claims that their relationship began a month after Toni’s death and lasted for three years. They allegedly even resided together in the picturesque lake house referenced by Turner on the show, necessitating Carolyn’s relocation from Iowa. The woman, who goes by the pseudonym Carolyn, disclosed to The Hollywood Reporter that she only moved after Gerry promised her mother that they would eventually tie the knot. Neither ABC, Turner, nor Warner Bros. has issued a statement regarding this revelation.
The information provided by THR suggests that Carolyn and Turner’s correspondence, including text messages and mail received at Gerry’s lake house, were reviewed. Interviews with her friends were also conducted. Additionally, THR found that the background check listed Carolyn’s primary residence as the home in question during the time described. It is alleged that Turner, who worked at a mental health center in Davenport, Iowa as a maintenance man, and Carolyn, who worked as a staff accountant, became friends through work. After reconnecting following the death of Toni, they began dating and moved in together for over a year. The relationship ended after Turner disinvited Carolyn from his high school reunion due to a perceived weight gain of 10 pounds, stating that he would not take her looking like that.
The situation takes a turn for the worse as Carolyn alleges that she fell down the stairs while packing to move out, leading to foot surgery. Turner accused her of doing it on purpose to prolong her stay and possibly sue him. Only a week before her new job’s two weeks’ notice ended, Turner asked her to leave the lake house and find accommodation in a hotel. The Bachelor finale will air on Thursday and is expected to be dramatic. Turner has already told both finalists that he loves them, a mistake many previous Bachelors have made. During Fantasy Suites week, he even told Leslie that he thinks she’s “The One.” As the season’s teasers suggest, this can only end in tears.
