Gerry’s dad, Everett Turner, is proudly supporting Team Leslie and isn’t hesitating to make it known to everyone.
The father of The Golden Bachelor confessed to enjoying every single episode of the show alongside his wife Norma and their close friends at their cozy residence in Fort Wayne, Indiana, as a show of affection for their son. Everett openly admitted that he had secretly wished for his son to choose Leslie Fhima rather than Theresa Nist.
During an interview with The U.S. Sun, the individual expressed his preference for Leslie, sharing that he had already formed an opinion about her. Surprisingly, he admitted that he didn’t particularly like Theresa, feeling a certain antipathy towards her. He couldn’t explain the reasons behind his initial choices but confessed that he favored Leslie 60 percent and Theresa 40 percent. However, despite his reservations, he realized that his perspective needed to shift as circumstances required it. Now, he acknowledged that he would have to change his tune and make an effort to develop a liking for Theresa.
“If she doesn’t bring happiness to him, I might have to give her a playful kick.” he joked. “I genuinely like Theresa. There’s no issue with me disliking her.”
“All I truly want is for him to be happy,” he continued.
Everett and Norma found out that Gerry had chosen Theresa as his partner at the same time as the rest of America, as Gerry kept the winner’s identity a secret even from his family.
“I’m always delighted to see him. I have always been proud of him. Not just because of this Bachelor journey. He’s always been amazing,” the proud father commented.
Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist, the celebrated Golden Bachelor couple, exchanged vows on January 4, but Everett, Gerry’s father, was not present at the wedding.
During a laid-back chat with People, The Golden Bachelor revealed his thoughtful gesture to involve his father in their California wedding, despite his inability to attend due to health concerns. Instead of letting the distance keep them apart, the ingenious groom arranged for a sweet surprise. He collaborated with a talented baker in Fort Wayne to send a miniature version of their wedding cake to his father’s doorstep on the night of the ceremony. Excitedly explaining the plan, he mentioned how his father has been hosting watch parties every Thursday, making it the perfect opportunity to bring a slice of their special day right to him.
