Head
Gerry Turner can’t catch a break. The Golden Bachelor star came onto the scene with a sob story about being a widower and high hopes of finding love on reality TV. Now, people who know him in real life are trashing him every chance they get.
First, the owner of his go-to hometown bar countered the claims he made on the show about not dating anyone since losing his wife. Then, an anonymous ex-girlfriend came out of the woodwork and said he fat-shamed her during their three-year relationship.
Now, his friends back home are dragging him because they think the fame has gone to his head. Radar Online reported all of the details.
Gerry is originally from Indiana, but his friends think he’s gone Hollywood. It’s not every day that a 72-year-old gets plucked from obscurity and catapulted into reality TV fame. It’s a big deal for Gerry, but his friends in Indiana aren’t impressed with what they’re seeing. They’re fully convinced that his experience on Golden Bachelor has done nothing but inflate his ego.
An insider claimed, “The more famous Gerry’s gotten, the more stuck-up and bigheaded he’s become.”
According to his pals, reality TV fame also impacted his taste level. He used to hang out at a local bar in Indiana called The Shady Nook. Now, he apparently only has a taste for five-star spots.
“Gerry’s strutting around like he’s a gift to all women and wants to be driven in limos and eat the finest restaurants,” one of his friends alleged. “He wants to shop at designer stores and wear Rolex watches.”
Gerry’s hometown pals feel that their old friend simply isn’t the same guy he used to be. So, when his 15 minutes of fame runs out, he probably won’t have many friends waiting for him in Indiana. However, it doesn’t sound like he’s too concernedaout that. Right now, his only focus is planning his wedding with Theresa Nist.
“My only response is that I have so many positive things in my life right now,” Gerry saidaout the ongoing criticism. “I have the wonderful love of Theresa, my partner. I don’t have time to reflect on comments like this. I’m happy to look forward.”
Gerry and Theresa’s wedding special will air on ABC in January 2024.
