Kody Reveals Thoughts on Expanding Family with Meri
During a reflection on previous episodes, Kody candidly discussed his early intentions of having additional children with Meri. “Looking back, I’m grateful that we ultimately decided against expanding our family,” shared the beloved reality TV personality from Sister Wives. He explained that at the time, both he and his wife were not in the best state of health, which would not have been ideal for the well-being of a child.

In a nostalgic moment, the father of 18 and his former first wife were reminiscing over an old video clip where they were once hopeful about undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF). However, Meri later reflected and acknowledged that it was the right decision. Despite their excitement at the time, Meri revealed that Kody even reassured her they would look back and be grateful for choosing IVF. It is worth noting that studies indicate that IVF slightly increases the chances of premature birth or having a baby with low birth weight.
Additionally, there have been reports linking IVF to a potential risk of ovarian tumors, which can potentially lead to cancer.
Later in the episode, Kody Brown disclosed that this period marked the beginning of the decline in their relationship. He shared, “During that time, we came to realize that our marriage was not in a healthy state.”
In a poignant moment on the recent episode of Sister Wives: Look Back, Meri Brown opened up about the emotional pain she experienced after suffering a miscarriage in 2007. She recounted a heartbreaking encounter when she saw teenagers aged 15 to 16 and couldn’t help but imagine her unborn child reaching that age and going through similar experiences.
I had a mix of emotions when I saw the boys joking around and creating those unforgettable teenage memories. It made me contemplate how my own baby, if they had survived, could have been doing the same. Meri Brown, in addition, mentioned that she had a hunch that the baby she miscarried was a boy, although she wasn’t aware of the gender. She acknowledged that losing a child brings immense sorrow and pain, but witnessing the boys’ happiness provided a sense of healing for her.
