Bachelor Nation alums Joe Amabile and Wells Adams have differing opinions on who should be chosen as the first Golden Bachelorette. Despite being close friends and having officiated Joe Amabile’s second wedding to Serena Pitt, the two have differing views on this spinoff.
Wells Adams, known for his role as the bartender/therapist on Bachelor in Paradise, played a part in bringing Joe and Serena together during Season 7 of the show. Now, the two friends have come together for a new venture, partnering with Diageo for a ready-to-serve Cocktail Collection. While promoting the brand in a recent interview with Us Weekly, they also shared their thoughts on various Bachelor Nation topics, including the potential Golden Bachelorette spinoff.
Interestingly, Joe Amabile and Wells Adams do not see eye to eye when it comes to choosing the deserving candidate among Gerry Turner’s contestants for the lead role in the spinoff show.
Opinions are split among Bachelor Nation fans when it comes to selecting the next Golden Bachelorette. Various contenders, such as third-place participant Faith Martin and runner-up Leslie Fhima, have been put forward. Many supporters believe that Gerry Turner treated Leslie unfairly and hope she can find love through this opportunity. Joe Amabile, also known as “Grocery Store Joe,” shares this sentiment and believes Leslie should be chosen as the Golden Bachelorette. He commended Leslie for her wholehearted commitment to the process and expressed his sympathy for her disappointment in Gerry’s actions. Furthermore, Joe described the 64-year-old fitness trainer as both personable and sweet. Another notable voice in the discussion is Wells Adams, who has a particular someone in mind for the role of the Golden Bachelorette.
However, Wells Adams has expressed a desire to give someone who left the show early a second chance, proposing Joan Vassos as his choice for the Golden Bachelorette. Joan made the difficult decision to self-eliminate in Week 3 due to a family emergency. In an interview, Wells shared his feelings, saying, “I think Joan should be the Golden Bachelorette. I would love to know how she and her family are doing, especially her daughter and grandchild. I’m curious about what happened during the labor.” Additionally, Wells has been a strong proponent of a Golden Bachelor In Paradise spinoff.
