Kenneth from Love Is Blind Opens Up About Why He Wasn’t Ready to Say ‘I Do’ with Brittany (Exclusive Interview)

In a chat with PEOPLE, Brittany Mills clarified her recent split with Kenneth Gorham, emphasizing that their breakup was unrelated to Gorham’s phone habits, despite how it may have appeared on season 6.

In Love Is Blind season 6, Kenneth Gorman and Brittany Mills appeared to be a perfect match before their breakup was revealed in episodes 7-9. Their engagement in the pods seemed promising, but once they returned to Charlotte, North Carolina, cracks began to show in their relationship. There were issues with communication, differing levels of physical affection, and the pressure of daily life as a couple. Ultimately, their emotional connection wasn’t enough to overcome these challenges, leading to a tearful split in episode 8. Kenneth explained that, despite their strong bond, timing played a crucial role in their decision to part ways.

In a recent Netflix interview, a middle school principal shared his experience of having to break off a relationship with Brittany, despite their deep connection. Less than a week away from their wedding, he realized that their feelings were not in the right place to move forward. He had sensed some issues brewing before, but his instinct to fight for relationships had kept him going. However, in the end, he knew that it was time to let go. Reflecting on his tendency to process things silently, he acknowledged that it had played a part in their breakup. This experience taught him the importance of being more vocal and expressive when dealing with emotions and conflicts.

Thanks to Netflix,
According to Brittany, the reason she and Kenneth ended their relationship was that they were not growing together as they had hoped. She mentioned that coming back from the Dominican Republic and adjusting to normal life made them realize they were drifting apart. Despite the sudden appearance, Brittany explained that there were underlying emotions and changes they experienced post-pods and DR.
Brittany emphasized the importance of giving each other a chance and allowing the experience to unfold naturally. She acknowledged that time may not have been on their side, and they are still in the process of figuring things out while both still growing individually.

The breakup had nothing to do with Kenneth’s phone usage, which was highlighted during their time living together in Charlotte. Brittany understood the importance of his career and the responsibilities he had, which supported his phone usage during filming.

Kenneth expressed regret about his actions on camera and admitted that he needed to be more engaged and aware of his behavior. He acknowledged the need to improve how he communicates and processes his thoughts.

Regarding the silent moments between them in the Dominican Republic, Brittany explained that those were moments of reflection for both of them. She appreciated Kenneth’s thoughtfulness and noted that they were both introverts in some aspects, leading to quiet moments of self-reflection.

Now that Kenneth and Brittany are no longer together, only four season 6 couples remain engaged. The remaining couples are on track to decide if love truly is blind as they head towards their weddings.
