In an unprecedented twist for the Bachelor franchise, a group of 22 remarkable women, all in their golden years, will step into the limelight in the hopes of finding true and lasting love with Gerry Turner, the charming Golden Bachelor. With ages ranging from 60 to 75, these accomplished ladies are taking a break from their comfortable lives, leaving behind their homes, friends, and families, all in the pursuit of rediscovering love and perhaps even themselves. Don’t miss the premiere of “The Golden Bachelor” on ABC, airing on THURSDAY, SEPT. 28 from 8:00-9:01 p.m. EDT. Catch up on the episodes on demand or on Hulu the day after they air.
Gerry Turner, a retired restaurateur and devoted father and grandfather, resides in his dream residence by a picturesque lake in Indiana. He leads a busy and fulfilling life, often hosting barbeques, playing pickleball, passionately supporting his favorite Chicago sports teams, enjoying off-roading adventures, and creating cherished memories with loved ones at local restaurants and hangouts.
Gerry has always been a hopeless romantic. He married his high school sweetheart, Toni, in 1974, and together they built a rich and joyful life with their two daughters, Angie and Jenny. Later on, they were blessed with two granddaughters, Charlee and Payton. Unfortunately, tragedy struck in 2017 when Toni fell unexpectedly ill and passed away, leaving Gerry heartbroken.
Six years after the passing of Toni, Gerry is finally ready to open himself up to finding a lasting love in his senior years, with the support of his family. Departing from the traditional format of shows like “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette,” the new reality series “The Golden Bachelor” offers a unique love story for the golden years of life. In this unscripted show, a romantic soul is given a second chance at love as they search for a partner to share their sunset years with. The women who enter the mansion bring a lifetime of experiences, including love, loss, and laughter, all hoping to ignite a spark that leads to endless possibilities. Will our Golden Bachelor find the courage to start a new chapter with the woman of his dreams? Stay tuned for the premiere of “The Golden Bachelor” this fall on ABC. Catch up on episodes through on-demand services and on Hulu the day after they air. The show is produced by Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Warner Horizon, with executive producers Claire Freeland, Jason Ehrlich, Bennett Graebner, and Andrew Frank.
