Love’s Obscure Path: Impediments That Disheartened Viewers in Season 2 Duos

After the premiere of Love Is Blind Season 2, devoted fans have taken to expressing their opinions on why they found themselves struggling to wholeheartedly back each of the participating couples.

After the airing of Love Is Blind Season 2, fans have been expressing their difficulty in fully supporting all of the couples. The season finale saw only two couples making it down the altar, and this did not come as a surprise to viewers. As the dynamics of the remaining couples unfolded, several red flags became apparent. Upon reflection, it became evident that very few couples brought the same magic as Cameron Hamilton and Lauren Speed-Hamilton from season 1.

Cameron and Lauren set the bar high for the dating experiment by instantly falling in love with each other in season 1. Their journey through the process was remarkably smooth after making a connection in the pods. While love was also found by couples like Amber and Barnett, none of them possessed the enchanting fairytale quality that Cameron and Lauren did. Their relationship provided inspiration for many hopeful individuals who signed up for season 2 in search of their own love story.

Season 2 introduced several likable contenders, but none of them experienced the same smooth sailing as the previous couple. Reddit user u/DeliciousMammal initiated a discussion thread, expressing a lack of support for any of the relationships in Season 2. In comparison to the couples from season 1, the viewer felt that the second season was more “dramatic” in nature. While Shayne Jensen and Natalie Lee gained popularity among fans, they too faced criticism. Shayne was perceived as “annoying and overbearing,” making it challenging for the Redditor and others to fully back their relationship. The decision of Natalie to leave Shayne at the altar in the finale came as a relief to many. The Redditor concluded that Shayne was better at attracting women than maintaining long-lasting relationships.

The Redditor also made claims against Natalie, suggesting that she is not as deep as she portrays herself to be. They also criticized Shaina Hurley, labeling her as a self-centered narcissist who strung Kyle along after being rejected by Shayne for Natalie. Shaina was honest about her desire to date Shayne, but when she discovered his plan to propose to Natalie, she accepted Kyle’s proposal and then abruptly ended the relationship during their vacation in Mexico. The Redditor also called out Kyle for allowing his infatuation with Shaina to blind him to her lack of interest from the beginning. Other Redditors shared similar sentiments, expressing that they did not root for any of the cast members due to their flawed characters.

One of the most contentious breakups on the show was between Shake and Deepti, with Shake being labeled as the villain of Season 2. Sal and Mallory seemed promising, but ultimately Sal decided he was not ready for marriage. Some Redditors felt that the cast did not have enough endearing qualities to wholeheartedly support their quest for love. However, Sal Perez was acknowledged as one of the few genuine individuals in Season 2. While the Love Is Blind Season 2 cast may have disappointed viewers, there were two couples who successfully found love. Nick Thompson and Danielle Ruhl, as well as Jarrette Jones and Iyanna McNeely, are still together. Many viewers may have found the cast unlikable, but at least these two couples were able to find compatible partners.
