A large gold nugget, valued at a minimum of $110,000, was recently found by a prospector in outback Western Australia. The man, who prefers to remain anonymous, had been searching the northern Goldfields area with a metal detector for quite some time before finally striking gold with more advanced technology. According to the lucky finder, he was taken aback when he uncovered the 3.23kg nugget, which contains 68 troy ounces or 2.11kg of pure gold.
A prospector in the remote area of Western Australia struck gold when they unearthed a huge nugget valued at over $110,000. The nugget was buried deep, about 800mm below the surface in clay soil, which required over two hours of careful digging to retrieve it.
The miner struck gold using the latest Minelab GPZ 7000 detector that he had on hand. Rob Anderson, the owner of Bunbury’s Prospectors Pick, has been acquainted with the miner for quite some time and attests to his expertise in uncovering valuable nuggets buried deep underground. “He has a solid track record of success year after year,” Mr. Anderson remarked.
Using a modern Minelab GPZ 7000 detector, the prospector unearthed a valuable discovery buried approximately 800mm underground. This find serves as proof that there is still plenty of gold waiting to be discovered, even in areas that may seem fully explored. The nugget, nicknamed ‘Duck’s Foot’ due to its shape, adds to the excitement of the discovery.
Recently, RNC Minerals, a Canadian gold mining company, revealed an impressive find at its Beta Hunt gold mine near Kambalda in the Goldfields. In just one week, they uncovered a staggering 262kg of gold valued at $C15 million ($A15.9 million). This included two massive specimens weighing 95kg and 63kg, with a total estimated gold content exceeding 113kg. President Mark Selby expressed that these specimens could potentially rank among the largest ever found.
In a more recent update, the company announced that the discovery, known as the ‘Father’s Day Vein’, has yielded over 680kg of gold with a value surpassing $C38 million ($A40.3 million). The ongoing success of the mine continues to generate excitement in the mining industry.
