Tammy Slaton has achieved a remarkable feat by successfully losing a significant amount of weight. Throughout her weight loss journey, she openly admits her dislike for exercising. However, her family members, especially her half-brother Chris Combs, have come up with a brilliant idea to provide her with the necessary support and motivation. Chris, who has always been a source of inspiration for Tammy, drew inspiration from his football days and pitched an idea to help her.
Tammy’s weight loss journey has been a collective effort within her family, with Amanda, Amy, and Chris constantly by her side. Despite facing numerous challenges and having come dangerously close to death on eight occasions, Tammy is determined to prioritize her health and make a serious commitment to her well-being.
By forming a support group, the beloved star of “1000-lb Sisters” has found a valuable source of encouragement and guidance during her transformation. This united front aims to bolster her spirits and ensure that she stays motivated throughout her weight loss journey. With their unwavering support, Tammy is ready to face any obstacles that may come her way and continue her remarkable progress towards a healthier lifestyle.
Besides engaging in exercise, Tammy Slaton has also made changes to her diet. You might remember her previous addiction to sodas, but now she mostly drinks tea or plain water, occasionally indulging in a soda. By being conscious of her food choices, she was able to achieve her desired weight for her weight loss surgery, going from 717 lbs. to 550 lbs. and reaching her target. Since then, she has continued to lose even more weight by maintaining her new lifestyle.
In an upcoming episode of Season 5 of “1000-Lb Sisters,” a teaser reveals the siblings getting creative in their workout routine. Although the family may have appeared ridiculous, they were actually trying to help their sister. Amanda jokingly commented to her TLC co-stars, “Y’all look dumb as hell.” Chris explained that during his football days, they would wear trash bags to sweat during workouts. So, he had the idea to cut out neck and arm holes in black trash bags and wear them like tunics. These days, helping each other goes both ways, as Tammy sometimes assists Amy with the kids.
Tammy Slaton expressed her thoughts in her confessional, stating that while the trash bag outfit may not be her style, she’s willing to embrace it and work out in it. She admits that she doesn’t enjoy exercising as much, but having her family around to laugh and tease each other makes it more enjoyable.
Although Season 5 of “1000-Lb Sisters” mainly focuses on Amy Slaton Halterman’s breakup with Michael, Tammy Slaton still plays a significant role. Despite fans eagerly anticipating Tammy’s skin reduction surgery, it’s likely they will have to wait until the next season to see that.
