However, before marrying Christine, David was previously married to another woman. David had been married to Margaret Lucille Sulin Woolley for more than two decades before their marriage ended. According to information shared by InTouch Weekly, David shared that he is a proud parent to eight children, six of whom are married and two who are single. Additionally, he mentioned having ten grandchildren. Despite not having a background in polygamy, David is accustomed to having a large family and considers his extended family in California as his own. Similarly, Christine, David’s current wife, shares a similar family size as she has six children with her husband Kody, named Aspyn, Mykelti, Paedon, Gwendlyn, and Ysabel. Tragically, Margaret’s life came to a devastating end.
Regrettably, Margaret, David’s previous spouse, battled with depression. On the 20th of June, 2012, Margaret’s life was tragically cut short by her own hands. As cited in InTouch Weekly, David disclosed that Margaret had checked into a hotel and despite his numerous attempts to reach out to her throughout the night, she was found lifeless among pills, alcohol, and a heartfelt suicide note. In her note, Margaret expressed her love for their children but had nothing but negative sentiments towards David. The exact contents of the note remain undisclosed, yet David struggled to come to terms with his wife’s devastating passing for over a decade before finding love again with Christine. Following Margaret’s death, David swiftly took on the role of a single father.
David’s affection for Christine blossomed due to her zest for life. Unlike Kody, Christine was drawn to David because she felt understood and cherished by him. Although David has no desire to partake in the Sister Wives lifestyle, he will undoubtedly be an exceptional life partner and husband to Christine. Given the mistreatment she endured from Kody for years, she truly deserves to be with someone as supportive as David.
