The current season of Gold Rush has brought familiar faces back into the spotlight as fan favorites take the lead. After a tough last season for Fred Lewis and the Clayton Brothers, where they struggled to find any gold, things are looking up with the return of Rick Ness. He joins the successful miners Parker Schnabel and Tony Beets, creating a powerful trio for this 14th season. However, keen-eyed viewers may notice that someone is missing – Kevin Beets.
When the new season of Gold Rush began, Tony Beets found himself preparing for the upcoming challenges without one crucial member of his family-run operation. Kevin Beets, who usually works alongside his father in the gold mine, was nowhere to be found. Tony was left wondering why his right-hand man had not shown up on site, as there had been no communication or explanation.

The explanation took place during a video call on the computer where Kevin and his spouse, Faith Teng, were speaking with his father. Unexpectedly, Kevin informed his father that he would not be joining him for this season’s gold mining. This decision was poorly timed as his father had been preparing for the season and now had very little time to find a replacement for Kevin. This put his father in a difficult position.
Kevin explained that he and his wife wanted to focus on gardening and renovating their house. It seemed that he had grown tired of the mining lifestyle and desired to spend more quality time at home with his wife. Nonetheless, Tony was not satisfied with this explanation and called it a disrespectful excuse. He likely felt frustrated because his son had waited until the last minute, making things more challenging for both him and his mining operations.
Since Kevin Beets had a crucial role in the operations, Tony had limited time to find a replacement. Wanting to keep things within the family, Tony made the decision to have his daughter, Monica, take charge of the plant and fill the position vacated by Kevin Beets.

Monica Beets / Gold Rush

Monica Beets, the youngest member of the Beets family, has spent her entire life surrounded by the gold mining operation and possesses a deep understanding of what it takes to make it successful. From the age of 12, she has been actively involved in operating machinery, and by the time she turned 18, she was already working alongside her father on a full-time basis. Recently, Monica has been given the opportunity to manage a plant, and she is proving her ability to step up and take charge while her brother focuses on gardening and renovating his house.
