Despite his success as a real estate agent, Bilal Hazziez, featured on the ninth season of 90 Day Fiancé, has unfortunately proven to be lacking in kindness and support as a spouse.
Bilal Hazziez, a former cast member of the popular reality show 90 Day Fiancé, has not been the most devoted husband to his wife, Shaeeda Sween. In his debut on the franchise in 2022, the 45-year-old man from Missouri started off on the wrong foot by lying to Shaeeda, claiming that he lived in a rundown house. He did this as a test to see if she was only interested in his money. Unfortunately, this lack of trust continued to cause problems in their relationship. Bilal went on to ask Shaeeda, who is from Trinidad & Tobago, to sign a prenuptial agreement, which left her feeling surprised and uneasy. Eventually, she agreed to sign, but only after Bilal promised to have a child with her before she turned 40.
Bilal and Shaeeda officially got married during their appearance on the ninth season of 90 Day Fiancé. Shortly after, they were chosen to be part of the spin-off series called 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? This show documented their journey as a married couple. As expected, they encountered numerous challenges, mainly revolving around trust issues. Shaeeda consistently reminded Bilal of his promise to have a child with her, but he seemed reluctant to fulfill it. This disagreement about starting a family became a major point of contention during the Tell All episode of the show. Despite these obstacles, they eventually managed to find common ground and made plans to support Shaeeda’s business venture in the United States.
While Bilal has taken care of Shaeeda’s needs, he has also engaged in some shocking behavior. In his first season, the real estate agent devised an elaborate loyalty test for Shaeeda. This test took place when she arrived in the United States. Bilal deceived her about his financial status, taking her to an old house and pretending to be impoverished. Understandably, Shaeeda was not pleased with Bilal’s rundown living conditions. Exhausted from her journey, she did not anticipate such a difficult beginning. It was irresponsible of Bilal to apply for the K-1 visa if he did not have trust in Shaeeda.
On top of this, Bilal allowed his ex-wife to disrespect Shaeeda Sween, which is unacceptable behavior.
Many individuals are usually supportive of their partners and stand up for them when necessary. However, in a particular incident involving Bilal and Shaeeda, Bilal failed to defend or take Shaeeda’s side during her confrontation with his ex-wife. This incident occurred during a coffee meetup between Shaeeda and Bilal’s former partner, Shahidah, on the reality show 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? While initially engaging in conversation, the situation took a turn for the worse. At one point, Shahidah even went as far as threatening Shaeeda, stating, “I will physically harm you.” Shockingly, Bilal did not assert his authority or stand up for Shaeeda in this heated moment.
To add to the list of Bilal’s shortcomings, he also disregarded Shaeeda’s desire to start a family earlier. Shaeeda expressed her wish to have a baby sooner, but Bilal chose to ignore her wishes. This further highlights his lack of consideration and attentiveness towards Shaeeda’s needs and desires.
Bilal’s mistreatment of his wife, Shaeeda, went beyond just disregarding her needs. He was fully aware that Shaeeda was approaching her late 30s and was feeling the pressure of her biological clock ticking. Despite this knowledge, Bilal deliberately delayed their journey towards parenthood, refusing to grant Shaeeda her heartfelt desire for a baby. Ideally, Bilal should have initiated their attempts to conceive a child as soon as Shaeeda arrived in the United States. However, he selfishly procrastinated until Shaeeda firmly asserted her wishes, insisting on becoming pregnant before turning 40. Tragically, their hopes were shattered when the couple experienced a heartbreaking miscarriage in the year 2023.
Bilal embodies the classic characteristics of a wealthy individual. He exudes an air of superiority, coupled with condescension and self-absorption. In a particular instance, Shaeeda playfully engaged with Bilal during their car ride, hoping to have a lighthearted moment. However, much to her surprise, Bilal took offense and arrogantly admonished his wife for behaving in such a manner. It is widely believed that in a healthy relationship, partners view each other as equals. Unfortunately, Bilal consistently displays a patronizing attitude towards Shaeeda. This recurring behavior hints at his deep-rooted superiority complex, leading many to accuse him of looking down upon his wife and considering her beneath him. Additionally, Bilal is known for his frequent outbursts and temper tantrums, which further highlight his entitled disposition.
Originally, Bilal appeared to be a composed individual. While he tested Shaeeda’s loyalty in a negative manner, he still portrayed himself as a mature individual with a rational mindset. Unfortunately, as the show progressed, Bilal proved his supporters wrong by revealing his lack of emotional maturity. The former participant of 90 Day Fiancé let his true nature shine through as he overreacted to minor incidents and threw temper tantrums. For instance, when Shaeeda playfully tapped him, he exaggerated the situation and made it more significant than it actually was. Additionally, during an argument, he even went as far as threatening Shaeeda’s friend instead of remaining calm and composed.
Every relationship requires a certain level of balance, but Bilal takes control to the extreme, even when it comes to his wife’s finances. In the year 2022, Shaeeda made the disheartening revelation that her husband, Bilal, has full authority over their money. “I have to seek Bilal’s approval for everything I need, until I can establish my own business,” she expressed her frustration. Shaeeda expressed her grievances about how Bilal keeps her in the dark about their finances and refuses to disclose important details. She admitted to having no knowledge about his income and the extent of his wealth. Furthermore, she shared that her request for a joint bank account was met with a firm denial from Bilal. It seems that Bilal carries himself as a high-value man in their relationship.
Bilal Hazziez’s true nature and character contradict his desire to be perceived as a high-value individual. Despite his longing for respect, likability, confidence, attractiveness, and success, Bilal is actually the opposite of what he portrays. If he possessed genuine confidence, he would have shown more trust in Shaeeda, acknowledging that it was his own choice to be with her. Additionally, he would have welcomed her in a more sincere manner instead of prioritizing material wealth. Demonstrating his true value through actions rather than material possessions would have been a more authentic approach for Bilal.
Bilal has also displayed a tendency to manipulate Shaeeda in various ways. He employs tactics such as acting tough, belittling others, and showering Shaeeda with excessive love and affection in order to escape from uncomfortable situations. Bilal has made repeated attempts to gaslight Shaeeda, utilizing strategies ranging from arguments about a prenuptial agreement to discussions about having a baby, all aimed at manipulating her into complying with his desires. During the Tell All segment, Bilal was called out by his fellow cast members for speaking in a condescending manner, resembling that of a professor, and using his sales communication skills to manipulatively control Shaeeda. It was pointed out to Bilal by other participants from 90 Day Fiancé that being a successful real estate agent did not automatically translate to being a good husband.
