Sikiru “SK” Alagbada, one of the participants on the popular Netflix series, wants to set the record straight about his relationship with Raven Ross. While they did face their fair share of challenges, including issues with physical intimacy and blending their different backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives on family, SK believes that their journey was not accurately depicted on the show. In particular, he feels that their love story wasn’t fully explored, as the narrative focused on other subjects and incidents. As a data engineer, SK believes that if he were watching the show as a viewer, he would have a lot of unanswered questions and gaps in understanding.

SK mentions that from the start, he and Raven had discussions about the potential challenges of a long-distance relationship. SK had hoped to find a partner who would be open to traveling and exploring new opportunities with him. However, he understands why Raven was hesitant to uproot her life immediately.

SK believes that love should be able to thrive regardless of location, and he wanted to reach that point in their relationship. However, they simply didn’t have enough time to get there. He recognizes that it would have taken a great deal of trust for Raven to abandon her own dreams after only knowing him for ten days. It was a lot to ask of her, and SK understands that they hadn’t yet reached that level of commitment.

During their wedding ceremony in episode 10, SK expressed his unease in saying “yes” to Raven at the altar. He acknowledged that their circumstances were unique and complicated, and he felt that the timing was not ideal for them to proceed. This unexpected statement caused Raven, who is typically composed, to burst into tears.

In a private interview, SK further elaborated on his feelings, stating that he would have felt guilty entering into a marriage with Raven while there were still unanswered questions lingering between them. “I was completely taken aback,” Raven shared. “Throughout the entire journey, I was never portrayed as someone who gets emotional easily. So, it must have been quite shocking for everyone to witness me turning into a crybaby.”

She continued, reflecting on the emotional day, “I was truly unprepared for this. We had been through so much together, and I was on cloud nine as our relationship progressed positively. So, I was definitely caught off guard by SK’s decision.”
