Former Couple from ‘Love Is Blind’, Danielle Ruhl and Nick Thompson, Share Sweet Reunion Photo
After being mentioned in a controversial article exposing allegations against the reality TV show ‘Love Is Blind’, Danielle Ruhl and Nick Thompson found themselves reconnecting. The article, published by Business Insider in April, brought them together again.
Up until that point, Ruhl mentioned that she and Thompson had been silently supporting each other through the challenging aftermath of their experience on the show. However, seeing Ruhl in the media reignited Thompson’s emotions, and after a few drinks, he decided to reach out to her. Their late-night texts led to Ruhl spontaneously visiting Thompson’s apartment in Chicago, where they finally had the chance to have a genuine conversation about their time on ‘Love Is Blind’ and their subsequent divorce. This heartfelt discussion lasted for a remarkable eight hours, carrying them through until 5 a.m.
For both Ruhl and Thompson, it felt like no time had passed while simultaneously acknowledging the significance of the passage of time. Ruhl described it as a peculiar sensation.
Thompson expressed feeling stuck due to unresolved matters between the two of them. The night of their reunion was also the same night they unknowingly posted a cozy selfie of themselves on Instagram.
Both Ruhl and Thompson admitted that they had no recollection of posting the photo, underscoring the spontaneous and unexpected nature of their reunion.
Danielle Ruhl, a cast member from the show “Love Is Blind,” recently addressed speculation from fans about a photo that showed her mascara smeared on her ex-boyfriend’s white shirt. Thompson, another cast member from the show, confirmed that they had both been crying a lot before the photo was taken. They had spent the evening talking through their unresolved issues and airing out their feelings.
The photo came as a surprise not just to fans, but also to their families, who reached out to them individually, thinking that they had started reconnecting. However, Ruhl clarified that this was not the case. The photo was taken on the same day they met after a period of no contact.
Ruhl reflected on her past behavior towards her ex, Nick, describing it as “immature” and expressing it as one of her biggest regrets.
Danielle Ruhl and Nick Thompson, who appeared on the Netflix show Love Is Blind, recently discussed their experience on a podcast. Although they did not reveal their current relationship status, they mentioned that there is a second part of the podcast yet to be released.
Part 1 of the conversation focused on Thompson and Ruhl’s negative experiences with the show’s producers. They claimed that once they arrived in Mexico, the producers became stricter and swapped their original producers from the pods. The couple also expressed concerns about being considered “boring” and thought that producers tried to create drama by emphasizing Ruhl’s anxiety.
In response to a story published by Business Insider in April, the production company Kinetic denied the claims and emphasized that the wellbeing of participants is their top priority. They stated that they have strict protocols in place to ensure the care and safety of the participants during and after filming.
Ruhl filed for divorce from Thompson in August, making them the second couple from Love Is Blind season 2 to end their marriage after one year. The other couple, Iyanna McNeely and Jarrette Jones, also announced their divorce during the same week.
